Campus Report :
Daffodil International University (DIU) celebrated ‘World Teachers Day’ on October 05 with great enthusiasm at its premises. This year’s theme of the day is “Valuing Teachers, Improving their status”. Students of different departments and clubs of the university greeted their favorite teachers with flowers, gifts, collected comments, spent some moments with them and took photographs. A teachers-students gathering was held at DIU Auditorium where Prof Dr Yousuf M Islam, Vice Chancellor of DIU was present as chief guest.
While addressing at the program, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Yousuf M Islam said, Teachers are in the pinnacle position of influence – your work as a teacher is of great importance to each student and the nation. On this day we should recognize our own teachers as well to thank them for their efforts to improve and change our lives. He also said, teachers are fundamental for equitable and quality education and, as such, must be “adequately trained, recruited and remunerated, motivated and supported within well-resourced, efficient and effectively governed systems”.
