World Sports Journalists Day celebrated

The World Sports Journalist Day in Bangladesh along with 152 countries was celebrated today in a befitting manner by honoring three sports personalities on Saturday.
Bangladesh Sports Press Association (BSPA) organized a function in this connection at the Handball Ground. The award function was followed by a milad mehfil and Iftar.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Biren Sikdar was present as the chief guest at the award function.
Three sports personalities-Dilu Khondokar, Khairul Islam Shahin and Aminul Haque Mallick were given award for their contribution in sports journalism to mark the World Sports Journalists Day.
The state minister gave a crest, a flower bouquet and a blazer to each of the recipient.
“Journalists always played a major role in the development work of Bangladesh and this type of award or recognition always inspire the recipients. I am sure this award will also be inspiration for other journalists too. I urge sports journalists to come forward and help the government wholeheartedly for the development of sports in this country, said Sport Minister Biren Sikder.”
DIlu Khondokar after taking the award from the sports minister said, ” It is indeed a great honour endowed to me by BSPA and this type award always inspire the recipients.
President and general secretary of BSPA M Hasanullah Rana and Sanat Babla also spoke on the occasion.
