World Sixes: Bangladesh crush Australia by 6 wkts

Bangladesh placed 2nd in the points table of four-team Group B after an emphatic six-wicket victory against Australia in the Hong Kong World Sixes at Kowloon on Saturday.
Bangladesh restricted Australia on 82/1 in stipulated 5 overs after posting a score of 88/2 in 5 overs, starting the innings with bat.
Bangladesh’s top scorer Afif Hossain retired with 34 off 11 balls, including six boundaries and one six, while Mahidul Islam Ankon fired two sixes and one boundary for unbeaten 22 for Bangladesh.
Nathan Reardon conceded 16 runs in one over to get Bangladesh skipper Saif Hassan (14) while Qazi Onik was run out adding 11 runs.
Australia’s skipper John Hastings fired four sixes and one boundary before retired with 32 runs while Nathan Reardon hit unbeaten 26 off 11 balls, including two fours and two sixes. Seb Gotch (11) was victim of run out while Alex Gregory added unbeaten 6 runs.
Bangladesh started their campaign with a three-wicket loss against New Zealand Select before back in the winning track with a seven-run victory against Sri Lanka.
After the group phase, New Zealand Select secured the top slot by virtue of more run rate, followed by Bangladesh with identical two wins and one loss.
A total of eight-team, split in two groups, are taking part in the tournament six-a-side world event.
