World sees 785,896 new cases, 13,268 more death

In the last 24 hours, 785,896 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus around the world while 13,268 died from the pandemic. Brazil has registered the highest number of deaths from the pandemic and infections during the period.

Earlier on Friday, 746,591 COVID-19 patients were detected while 13,937 deaths related to the disease were reported worldwide.

As of Saturday morning (07-04-2021), a total of 135,297,064 people has been diagnosed with coronavirus worldwide, as the death toll rises to 2,928,575 while 108,860,902 patients have recovered, according to Worldometers data.

Brazil has registered 3,647 deaths and 89,090 new cases in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 348,934 people died in the country due to the pandemic and 13,375,414 have been infected so far.

The US, the worst-hit country in the world, has registered the second-highest death toll of 929 during the time. With this, the tally of fatalities from the pandemic has risen to 574,840 in the country. Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 31,802,772 as 85,368 new cases were confirmed during the period. The country is still at the top in coronavirus deaths and infections.

India has seen the third-highest death toll of 773 in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll to 168,467. The total number of cases has exceeded 13,202,783 with 144,829 new infections.

In Poland, 768 more people have died from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 57,427. Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 2,528,006 as 28,487 new cases were confirmed during the period.

Italy has reported 18,938 new coronavirus cases, taking the overall caseload to 3,736,526. The death toll due to COVID-19 climbed to 113,579 with 718 people succumbing to the disease in a span of 24 hours.

The coronavirus, that first reported in China in 2019, is now affecting 219 countries and territories around the world and two international conveyances.
