In the last 24 hours, 583,741 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus around the world while 10,410 died from the pandemic. Brazil has registered the highest number of deaths from the pandemic and infections during the period.
Earlier on Wednesday, 506,030 COVID-19 patients were detected while 10,420 deaths related to the disease were reported worldwide.
As of Thursday morning (25-03-2021), a total of 125,424,480 people has been diagnosed with coronavirus worldwide, as the death toll rises to 2,756,662 while 101,288,273 patients have recovered.
Brazil has registered 2,244 deaths and 90,564 new cases in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 301,087 people died in the country due to the pandemic and 12,227,179 have been infected so far.
The US, the worst-hit country in the world, has registered the second-highest death toll of 1,405 during the time. With this, the tally of fatalities from the pandemic has risen to 558,422 in the country. Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 30,704,292 as 66,538 new cases were confirmed during the period. The country is still at the top in coronavirus deaths and infections.
Mexico has seen the third-highest death toll of 809 in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll to 199,048. The total number of cases has exceeded 2,203,041 with 5,881 new infections.
In Poland, 575 more people have died from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 50,340. Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 2,120,671 as 29,978 new cases were confirmed during the period.
Italy has reported 21,267 new coronavirus cases, taking the overall caseload to 3,440,862. The death toll due to COVID-19 climbed to 106,339 with 460 people succumbing to the disease in a span of 24 hours.
The coronavirus, that first reported in China in 2019, is now affecting 219 countries and territories around the world and two international conveyances.
