UNB, Dhaka :The World Human Rights Day will be observed in the country on Wednesday as elsewhere across the globe. The UN General Assembly proclaimed December 10 as Human Rights Day in 1950 with a view to bringing to the attention ‘of the peoples of the world’ the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as the common standard of achievement for all peoples and all nations.The theme of this year’s day is: ‘Human Rights 365’ that encompasses the idea that every day is Human Rights Day.Various organisations have chalked out elaborateprogrammes, including discussions, rallies and human chains, to mark the day.Human Rights International-Bangladesh will form a human in front of the Jaitya Press Club in the capital at 10am.Meanwhile, President Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon have issued separate messages on the occasion.In his message, the President said the significance of the day will motivate all to establish human rights all days of the year.
