On May 3, World Free Media Day, Kishoreganj Press Club arranged a discussion, human chain and Ifftar-Doa Mahafil marking the day. This time the main theme of the day is ‘Information is the product of the people’. The Day is celebrated around the world every year.
A discussion meeting was held at Syed Nazrul Square in the town Monday morning. Press Club Convenor Lutfur Rashid Rana presided over. It was addressed among others by Senior Journalists Alarm Sarowar Tito, A.K. Nasim khan, Moniruzzaman Chodhury Sohel, Noor Mohammed and Monowar Hossein Rony.
Senior Journalist Alam Sarowar Tito said that In 1993, the UN General Assembly (May 3) recognized World Press Freedom Day, or World Press Freedom Day, as recommended by UNESCO’s 27th General Assembly in 1991.
Following the basic principles of freedom of the press and the establishment of a free media, evaluation of the freedom of the media worldwide, taking an oath to resist interference in freedom, and paying tribute to the memory of journalists who lost their lives in the line of duty.
