Dhaka University Film Society (DUFS) arranged the 133rd World Film Manifestation Programme (WFMP) as a tribute to the legendary Japanese filmmaker Akira Kurosawa.
The 133rd edition of the program festival ‘Retrospective of Akira Kurosawa’, was held featuring the film of Akira Kurosawa, the classical master of Japanese films. A total of seven of Kurosawa’s classics including ‘Rashomon’ (1950), ‘Seven Samurai’ (1954), ‘Ikiru’ (1952), ‘Yojimbo’ (1961) were screened during the two-day programme, started recently. World Film Manifestation Program is a monthly arrangement of Dhaka University Film Society focusing on introducing the grandiose of world cinema to the
local audience. Akira Kurosawa is widely considered one of the best and most influential directors of the 20th century, reports BSS.
His cinematic vision, approach to life, reality, fantasy, truth and the creative influence on world cinema is an essential horizon to be explored for any film enthusiast.
