Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) brought out a joyous procession on the Dhaka University (DU) campus on Tuesday greeting the Young Tigers for winning the U-19 World Cup for the first time.
The procession started from the Madhur Canteen premises and paraded main streets on the campus. It culminated in a rally at the foot of Raju Sculpture.
BCL President Al Nahian Khan Joy presided over the rally while its General Secretary Lekhak Bhattacharjee and DU unit General Secretary Saddam Hussain spoke on the occasion.
Congratulating the players, Lekhak Bhattacharjee said, “We’re really proud of them. It’s a matter of great pleasure for the country, people and the players as well.They’ve achievedsuch a feat for which the entire nation was waiting over the years.”
He also expressed the hope that the Young Tigers will bring more glory for the country in the days to come.
