UNB, Dhaka :
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday said the world community has accepted the results of the recent national election in Bangladesh.
“The world community has accepted the recent (national) election as the affirmative achievement against the terrorist acts and violence of the BNP and Jamaat-Shibir quarters to foil the election and grab state power illegally,” she said, replying to a question of AKM Rahmatullah (AL-Dhaka) in Parliament during the PM’s question-answer session.
The Prime Minister said that a good number of state and government heads
greeted the newly elected government in messages sent to her. “Besides, heads of UN and other international organizations also greeted me as the Prime Minister of the newly elected government.”
She said that governments of USA, EU and other friendly nations as well as international organizations have expressed their desire to continue to work with the present government to continue the democracy, good governance and development process.
Sheikh Hasina hoped that the flow of greetings from different countries and organization will continue in the coming days.
She mentioned that the international community “thinks that the advancement of the parliamentary democracy in Bangladesh” will give additional pace to development and good governance achieved in the last five years.
The Prime Minister said that the 10th parliamentary elections and the greetings of the world community and their desire to work with the present government is the “sign of the diplomatic success” of this government.
