World Accreditation Day today

The World Accreditation Day-2017 will be observed in the country like elsewhere in the world today.
This year, the theme of the day is “‘Accreditation: Delivering Confidence in Construction and the Build Environment”.
President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave separate message wishing success of the day.
In his message on the occasion of the World Accreditation Day-2017, President Abdul Hamid said the role of accreditation is very important to ensure quality of products and services.
He said the confidence of consumers on products and service providing organisations is increasing gradually for providing accreditation, by maintaining international standard, among the different laboratories, certification agencies and inspection organizations.
“The confidence of consumers will increase and investment will accelerate, if we can quickly complete the construction work with transparency and integrity,” he added.
In her message, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said the role of construction industry is important for worldwide economic development, employment, safe housing and environment safety as well as building national infrastructure.
She said Bangladesh Accreditation Board (BAB) can play an important role to ensure safety in construction planning and environment protection by actively considering the public interest issues.
She hoped that the BAB would play an important role in the government’s policy framing, developing the national standard and infrastructure and expanding the country’s exports. They wished all programmes of the day a success.
Bangladesh Television will air special programmes and mobile phone operators will send messages through short message system to mark the Day.
