The training workshop on “Right to Information (RTI) Act-2009” for journalists of Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) for the ninth batch was held at DRU Sagor-Runi Auditorium in the city’s Segunbagicha area on Friday.
A total of 50 journalists of different printing, electronic and online media took part in the daylong training workshop organised by the DRU for its members.
Former Information Commissioner M A Taher, Executive Director of Management and Resource Development Initiatives (MRDI) Hasibur Rahman Mukur and Chief Reporter of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) Modhusudhan Mandal attended the workshop as resource persons.
Among others, member secretary of training sub-committee Mahfuza Jesmin, DRU Finance Secretary Ashraful Islam, Organising Secretary M Morsalin Nomani and Executive Member Manik Muntasir were also present.
DRU Training and Research Secretary Mohammad Sazzad Hossain presided over the programme.
Earlier, the training workshop began on August 22 this year.
As many as 450 newsmen took part in the workshop till Friday.
Information Minister Hasanul Huq Inu is expected to be present on the concluding session of the workshop scheduled to be held on November 18.
