A day-long workshop on “Quality Assurance in the University of Dhaka” was held on Monday at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of the university.
The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Dhaka University (DU) organised the event while Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique inaugurated it as the chief guest.
Pro-VC Prof Dr Nasreen Ahmad, Head of Quality Assurance Unit of UGC Prof Dr Mesbahuddin Ahmed and Member of UGC Dr M Yousuf Ali Mollah addressed the inaugural session as special guests.

while Additional Director Dr Mahbub Ahsan Khan gave vote of thanks.
Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique stressed the need for ensuring quality of the
tertiary education in Bangladesh to face global challenges of the 21st
century. He urged the faculty members to work hard for upgrading their
quality through self-criticism.
The VC also called upon the teachers to play pioneering role to produce
global standard graduates in the country. He emphasized on introducing
institutional frame work at the universities to detect weakness of the
faculty members.
It may be mentioned that a total of 120 teachers from different departments
of the Dhaka University participated in the workshop.
