A seven-day workshop on “New VAT law and Income Tax” began on Monday at the Institute of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB) in the city.
Bangladesh Tax Training Institute (BTTI) organised the workshop to provide necessary knowledge about new VAT law and Income Tax to the government and corporate officials.
Member of Audit and Intelligence at National Board of Revenue (NBR) M Rezaul Hasan inaugurated the workshop, while Customs and VAT Commissioner of the Dhaka South City Kazi Mostafizur Rahman and Chief Executive Officer of BTTI Shyamol Chandra Sarkar attended the occasion.
Rezaul Hasan said, the government has taken various initiatives, including establishing online services and easing the rules and regulations of VAT and Income Tax, to make tax-friendly environment and increase the tax net.
A total of 80 officials of 70 government organisations and corporate houses took part in the workshop.
