They added that many varieties of mangoes are being produced in the country on commercial basis and these are being used in the country. The most delicious varieties of mangoes are Langra, Khirshapat, Gopalbhog, Himsagar, Ranipachanda and BARI AM-3 and 4 and we can send them to the Bangladeshi expatriates in different countries. But due to faulty system of production, harvesting, storing, packeting and marketing these mangoes lose their quality.
They further added that growers of mangoes are using excess chemicals on mangoes causing a great threat to human health as well as mango trees. Meanwhile, a great number of mango trees have dried up for this.
Owners of mango orchards, mango dealers, mango growers and sub-assistant agriculture officers of Bholahat upazila participated in the workshop.
