Workshop on inclusive governance and social accountability held

Workshop on Inclusive Governance and Social Accountability (IGSA) was held at a hotel in Khulna.
Platforms for Dialogue (P4D), a European Union funded project in partnership with the cabinet Division, recently organized the event.
Aiming to strengthen inclusion and participation in decision making and accountability mechanism in Bangladesh, the P4D project, is being implemented through the British Council.
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Secretary, Coordination and Reforms (C &R) of Cabinet Division addressed the workshop as chief guest while Sultan Ahmed, Additional Secretary(Reforms Wing) of Cabinet Division and Project Director of P4D Project in the chair.
Khulna Divisional Commissioner Dr M Anowar Hossen Hawlader addressed the workshop as special guest while Team Leader of P4D Project Arsen Stepanyan presented the keynote paper. Khulna Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Helal Hossain, among others, spoke in the workshop.
Government officers in different levels, Leaders of Civil Society, NGO Personnel and Journalists, about Citizen Charter (CC) and Grievance Redress System (GRS) attended the working session.
On July 15, 2018, ‘Platforms for Dialogue’ was launched through a ceremony in the capital by British Council in association with Cabinet Division.
At the national level, P4D already support government institutions in attaining the targets set in the 7th five year plan and policies centred in the National Integrity Strategy (NIS), the Right to Information Act, 2009, Citizens’ Charter, and the Grievance Redress System.
New tools and policy platforms are being developed both at regional and national levels for effective and transparent government-civil society and citizen engagement on policy matters.
The project is expected to be completed by June 2020.
