A dissemination workshop on ‘e-Government Master Plan for Digital Bangladesh’ was held at Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) on Wednesday. The workshop was organized to share suggestions of e-Government Master Plan report and its implementation strategy.
NM Zeaul Alam, Senior Secretary of ICT Division attended the workshop as chief guest. Hyun-Gue Joe, Country Director of Korea International Cooperation Agency was Guest of Honour and Md. Mamun-Al-Rashid, Additional Secretary (Planning and Development Wing) of ICT Division addressed as special guest.
Parthapratim Deb, Executive Director of BCC presided over the programme while Mohammad Manir Hossain, Project Director of ‘e-Government Master Plan for Digital Bangladesh’ delivered the welcomed speech.
Zeaul Alam said thate-Government Master Plan for Digital Bangladesh will play an effective and efficient role to establish a strong e-Government eco-system in the country and it will be very useful for different Ministries/Divisions/ Organizations to initiate their new ICT related activities aligned with “Vision-2021.
According to the report of UN e-Government Survey 2018, Bangladesh ranked 115th among 193 countries.
He mentioned that ICT Affairs Adviser to the Prime Minister has given us a target to improve our UN e-Government ranking 50 positions by 2021.In 2003, only 45 countries had one-stop-platform and it was 90 in 2016. We made more than 40% service available in online and activities are going on to bring 90% services by 2021.
‘E-Government Master Plan for Digital Bangladesh’ report was formally unveiled by the Architect of Digital Bangladesh, ICT Affairs Advisor to the Prime Minister on 20 October 2019.
Parthapratim Deb said the goal of the government is to be a service-oriented citizen-centric government by bringing its services to the doorsteps of citizens through the use of ICTs.
The Master Plan- once fully rolled out- will completely transform government processes, services and management, and make information access and service delivery more efficient.
