Workshop on ‘Child Friendly Hospital Program’ in port city

A two-day training workshop on “Child Friendly Hospital Program” has inaugurated under the management of Public Health Nutrition Institute of the Department of Health.
The workshop was inaugurated yesterday at 10 am in the conference room of the Divisional Health Director by Chittagong Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Hasan Shahriar.
The workshop was conducted by Muhammad Hossain, Junior Health Education Officer, Divisional Health Director’s Office, Md. Shakhawat Ullah, Assistant Director (Administration).
On the inaugural day of the workshop, Chittagong Medical College Associate Professor (Children) Dr. Jebin Chowdhury and Chittagong 250-bed General Hospital Senior Consultant Raushan Ara Begum Shimul provided training on maternal and child health. The workshop was attended by doctors and nurses from the city’s private Parkview Hospital, Max Hospital, CSCR and National Hospital.
Chittagong Divisional Health Director Hasan Shahriar Kabir said the training workshop was organized to transform the country’s private hospitals into child-friendly hospitals by reducing the infant mortality rate by 2030 and involving the private sector with government initiatives.
As a result of the joint initiative of doctors and nurses at the government-private level, it is possible to build child-friendly hospitals everywhere. Workshops on “Child Friendly Hospital Program” will be held in all the departmental and district towns of the country in phases.
