Light Engineering Sector has been playing an important role in socio-economic sector by generating employment opportunities. Thereby, the progress of this sector will contribute directly to the economic development of the country.
 Focusing on this, Institute of Appropriate Technology (IAT), BUET has organized a 3-day-long (July 9-11, 2018) workshop titled “Development of Competitive Business Plan with Modern Technologies in Light Engineering Sector”. The workshop was sponsored by Light Engineering Business Promotion Council of Ministry of Commerce, Government of Bangaldesh. Thirty participants from various engineering industries and enterprises took part in the workshop.
Faculty members of BUET and experts from private and public organizations rendered as resource persons in the workshop.
The participants are expected to incorporate modern technologies in small and medium industries in their current and future business plan which will eventually enhance the export potency of manufactured products.
The opening and closing sessions of the training workshop was chaired by Prof Dr Mohammad Arif Hasan Mamun, Director, Institute of Appropriate Technology (IAT), BUET.
