Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Nurul Islam BSC on Monday said the recruitment process of the nineteen categories of Bangladeshi workers to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) would be completed within the next three months.
“All the necessary steps will be taken within the next three months as per the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the governments of the two countries,” said the minister at a press conference held at Expatriate Welfare Bhaban here this afternoon.
The recruitment process of 19 categories of employees came to an effect immediately after signing of a MoU between the two countries on April 18, said the minister.
Earlier, a memorandum of understanding was signed between UAE’s Under- Secretary of the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation Saif Ahmed Al Suwaidi and Secretary of the Ministry of Expatriates Welfare and Overseas Employment Dr Namita Halder on behalf of their respective countries on April 18.
Tadbeer Service Centre, the lone government agency of the UAE, under the supervision of the Ministry of Human Resource and Emiratisation (MOHRE) will deal the appointment of the workers, added the minister.
In this regard, a joint working committee will be formed and then the next course of action will be taken, he said, adding, “No one will have to spend money for sending employee to the UAE.”
The categories include housemaid, private sailor, watchman and security guard, household shepherd, family chauffeur, parking valet workers, household horse groomer, household falcon caretaker and trainer, domestic labourer, housekeeper, private coach, private teacher, babysitter/nanny, household farmer, gardener, private nurse, private PRO, Private agriculture engineer and cook.
Expressing hope, the minister said, “We will able to overcome all the impediments in the way to send employees many countries in the Middle East including the UAE.”
