UNB, Dhaka :Jatiya Sramik Federation on Tuesday demanded the government withdraw its decision to raise electricity and gas prices with effect from September 1.The Federation came up with the demand while staging a red flag rally protesting governments decision to raise the price of gas and power. Chaired by JSF President ASM Zakaria among others Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) leader Kamrul Hasan, and central leader of the federation Delwar Hossain, spoke on the occasion.ASM Zakaria said this decision will make house owners reckless and theywould eventually hike house rent which will severely affect the workers who live in rented house in the city. Zakaria said prices of essential commodities and services would go up and it won’t be possible for them to afford extra money as they are poorly paid.Kamrul Hasan questioned why people would pay extra for gas and electricity when price of oil is lower compared to any previous years in recent times.
