The workers of a readymade garments factory at Bandartilla area of Halishahar thana in city staged demonstration in front of the factory yesterday morning demanding arrear salary.
The factory management puts lock and key of the factory yesterday morning without any prior information. As such the agitated workers staged demonstration. The incident occurred in Newcon Garments Factory situated in Shah Plaza Market of CEPZ area.
Sensing the news of the agitation, Industrial police and EPZ thana police rushed to the spot and tried to calm the workers but till now the workers are staying in front of the factory under police cordon till writing this report.
A workers sources said 3 months salary is due but the management not giving any intimation, closed the factory.
Police sources said they are trying to identify the owner and manager of the factory but yet to be traced or did not contact over cell phone.
After discussion with the owner of the factory, the matter can only be solved, police sources said.
