A tea worker was killed when a portion of a wall collapsed on him at Baluchar Jonaki residential area in the city on Monday evening.
The deceased was identified as Shukh Das, 45, son of late Rajani Das, and a tea worker of Lokkatura tea garden under daldali section.
Akhter Hossain, officer-in-charge of Shahparan Police Station, said a portion of a wall of the house fell on Shukh Das while he was in the house, leaving him dead on the spot.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Osmani Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, the OC added.
