A worker was killed after falling from a ship at Madambibir Hat area under Sitakunda upazila of the district on Tuesday.
The victim was identified as Akkas Mia, a worker of Nabin Corporation, hailing from Comilla district.Akkas was killed after falling down from a ship when he was unloading scrap goods from the ship at Asad Steel Ship Breaking Yard in the area, said Mohammad Sagar, Accounts Officer of Asad Steel Ship Breaking Yard.Nabin Corporation bought scrap goods from the ship yard and Akkas was assigned to unload the goods from the ship, he said adding that the body was handed over to the victim’s family members.
