‘Work unitedly to implement Bangabandhu’s dream’

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman has urged everyone to work unitedly to build a non-communal and prosperous Bangladesh being imbued with the values and dreams as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
 “There is no alternative to collective efforts to build the country as a non-communal and prosperous one as dreamt by Bangabandhu,” he said while addressing a discussion at university’s Abdul Matin Chowdhury Virtual Classroom, marking the National Mourning Day.
 Akhtaruzzaman called upon all to be united under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for the successful implementation of Bangabandhu’s dream and completion of his unfinished works.
DU Pro-VC (Administration) Dr Mohammad Samad and DU Pro-VC (Academic) Dr ASM Maksud Kamal also addressed the discussion.
Earlier in the morning, DU teachers, officers and employees led by the VC paid tributes to Bangabandhu by placing wreaths at his portrait at Bangabandhu Memorial Museum in the city.
All the buildings and residential halls at the university hoisted the national flag at half-mast alongside a black flag to mark the day.
DU Journalists Association (DUJA) organised a photo exhibition featuring 100 rare photographs of Bangabandhu inaugurated by VC Dr Akhtaruzzaman in the morning.
DUJA President Mehedi Hasan, General Secretary Sazzadul Kabir, and members of the body were present.
