Chief Coordinator at the Prime Minister’s Office on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Md Abul Kalam Azad on Friday urged the skilled manpower to work unitedly to achieve the SDGs.
“The skilled workforce can play an important role in achieving the SDGs,” he told a seminar in city’s Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDE,B) auditorium.
Azad hoped that that Bangladesh will be turned into a happy and prosperous ‘Sonar Bangla’ as dreamt by Bangabandhu by 2041 after implementing the SDGs by 2030.
Marking its 40th council session, the IDE,B organized the seminar titled ‘Quality for Sustainable Development and TVET for National Development and Prosperity’.
Housing and Public Works Secretary Md Shahid Ullha Khandkar addressed the seminar as the special guest, while Additional Director of Ahsania Mission Dr Md Wazed Ali and Curriculum Specialist of Bangladesh Technical Education Board Dr Shah Alam Mazumder presented two keynote papers.
IDE,B President AKMA Hamid chaired the seminar, while General Secretary Md Shamsur Rahman gave the welcome address.
Azad said every ministry has been tasked to implement 17 SDGs. “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s special 10 initiatives are very much close with the goals,” he added.
