Works on constructing Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) are going on in full swing. Power-starved Bangladesh inked agreement with Russia for constructing a nuclear power plant in Rooppur. Russia is providing all assistance for setting up the plant, including providing the fuel and taking back the used fuel.
Each of the two units at Rooppur is expected to cost $1.5 billion to $2 billion. Bangladesh will bear 10 percent of the cost while Russia provides the rest as loan. The plant will be in operation for 60 years but its life can be extended by another 20 years. The plant will be built with third-generation technology protected by five-layers of security by Goldenberg.
Having more than 20 years of experience of successful activity at complex and hi-tech facilities, Goldenberg company is determined as subcontractor for construction of NPP “Rooppur”.
