Chattogram Bureau :
Mayor of Chittagong City Corporation Rezaul Karim Chowdhury has called upon the concerned agencies to alleviate the suffering of the city dwellers by ensuring uninterrupted supply of electricity, gas and water in the holy month of Ramadan.
He made the call on Monday while removing soil and clearing solid waste from drains as part of a crash program in Pathantuli Ward No. 26 of the city. Joining the online video connection to the crash program, he said that despite promises to ensure uninterrupted power, gas and water supply during the month of Ramadan, there were frequent power outages in some areas of the city and WASA’s water supply management was being disrupted.
Although the disruption of power and water supply lines is temporary during the intense heat of summer, the suffering is painful and fatal for the fasting people during the month of Ramadan. The Mayor hoped that the concerned agencies would alleviate the suffering and implement uninterrupted supply management.
