The women’s hockey training camp began at the Moulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium on Wednesday. The talent hockey players will be selected from the hockey training camp. Director of Sports Directorate Dr Md Aminul Islam inaugurated the ten-day long hockey coaching camp as the chief guest, while Secretary of National Sports Council Ashok Kumar Biswas and national awardee former hockey player Protap Shanker Hazara were present with him as special guests.
A total of 45 female hockey players are taking part in the training camp. A number of eight players have come from Kishoreganj.
National awardee Imam Hossain Chowdhury Shanta is the advisory coach, while Azizullah Haider and Hedayetul Islam Rajib are acting as assistant coaches. Assistant Director of Sports Directorate and former hockey player Md Tariquzzaman has taken the duty to supervise the coaching camp.
After the eighties, this is for the first time Sports Directorate has taken the step to arrange a training camp for women.
