Women’s International Master Rani Hamid and Women’s Fide Master Zakia Sultana shared the top slot in the Dr. Mirza Akmal Hossain Open FIDE Rating Women’s Chess Tournament securing 5 points each after the 6th and penultimate round of the Tournament at the Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room on Wednesday.
Three players — WFM Nazrana Khan Eva, Noshin Anjum and Samiha Chowdhury jointly -shared the 2nd position securing 4.5 points each.
Four players were in the 3rd position collecting 4 points each. They are: Jahanara Haque Runu, Jannatul Ferdous, Ahmed Walijah and Israt Jahan Diba.
In the day’s 6th round matches, WIM Rani Hamid beat Runu, WFM Zakia drew with WFM Eva, Noshin beat Afrin Jahan Munia, Samiha beat Musfica Zannat Sawri, Jannat beat Wadifa Ahmed, Walijah beat Nazmin Akter and Diba beat Tasnia Tarannum Orpa.
