BSS, Dhaka :
The newly-elected 49 women lawmakers for reserved parliamentary seats on Wednesday paid rich tribute to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman offering wreaths at Bangabandhu Memorial Museum here.
“After taking oath as Member of Parliament (MP) in the eleventh Jatiya Sangsad, the Women MP’s placed wreaths on the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman,” a parliamentary secretariat press release said. Of the 49 women lawmakers, 43 seats were allotted to Awami League nominees, four went to Jatiya Party nominees, one to Workers’ Party and one was nominated by three directly elected independent lawmakers.
