Women have conquered the world with the passage of time.Women`s contribution in every success , crearion can not be ignored.
Women mould the character of their children,inspire men to go forward.Men conquered the space with the help of women.Women not only inspire men but also play a great role to leadership.The renowned women of this sub-continent, Begum Rokeya, female leaded Ila Mitra have showed how to fight against subjugation.Priti Lata has showed how to jump over the enemies,Shaheed Jononi Jahanara Begum has also showed how to judge Rajakar.Bangladesh is a small populated country.Women of this country are not confined to four walls.They are working in the field with menThey are wiping out grass from paddy field.But their wages are less than male.
Most of the women are the victim of deprivation and discrimination.It is impossible to develop the country lagging behind half of the total population inactive.Women are working to prove their worth inorder to survive.Women of Gafargaon upazila under Mymensingh are not confined to sit idle within four wall,To improve the country, to Change their lot they are working in agricultural fields in groups.The school student Ratna, Firuja Khatun, Chameli Begum of Charalgi Union under Gafargaon Upazila are women labourers.They work in their own fields but at the same time work on other people`s land. Due to economic necessity or the urge to establish individual identity or or both they have come out of home and are becoming self-reliant.At work they have to compete with men to prove their worth .Recently the ILO has launched to impart training in various activities for rural women.
To remove discrimination the UN passed act Convention SDO on 18 1976 women’s equal position ,alleviation ,crime, torture, Mother`s right, law and economic right, are passed to protect themselves.
According to CDO the empowerment of women is not implemented about 80 % women live below the acute poverty line so that women is deprived. All consuming poverty forced them to look for work. About 90% women work in industrial and agricultural work.
Upazila Agriculture officer said that women get less wages than men. He also said ,If men give women equal right, it is possible to remove discrimination .It is necessary to change the attitude of men towards women.
