Law Minister Anisul Huq on Friday said, “Though women’s participation was moving all the way, they were still persecuted inside and outside. This torture must be stopped.”
“Women are the main drivers of a family, a society and a nation. Therefore, women judges must be sincere to ensure the rights of women within the legal framework. To face the challenges of the millennium, they have to be honest and sophisticated. We all have to work together to build a gender balance Bangladesh,” said the Law Minister.
He was speaking at the inaugural session of the 29th general conference of ‘Bangladesh Women Judges Association’ organized at the Judicial Administration Training Institute (JATI) in the capital. Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain was the chief guest in the programme.
‘Bangladesh Women Judges Association’s President Tanjina Ismail presided over the programme. Founder President of the organization Justice Nazmun Ara Sultana, Justice Zinat Ara and Solicitor Jesmine Ara, among others, spoke in the programme.
The Law Minister said, “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh is now progressing to all the development indicators. Department of Justice is also a partner of this development. So, the women judges should apply their talents, thoughts and techniques to solve the cases pending in the courts and to ease the sufferings of the people.”
