State Minister for Woman and Children Affairs Meher Afroz Chumki said the Bangladeshi women are now passing a successful time in the history as women empowerment in Bangladesh is not a dream now, but it is a reality.
The state minister said this on Friday while participating in a human chain organized by the Woman and Children Affairs Ministry marking the International Woman Day in front of the Jatiya Press Club here.
Bangladesh is the only country in the world where the positions of Prime Minister, opposition leader, Parliament Speaker and deputy leader of the parliament are women, the state minster told the function.
Woman and Children Affairs Secretary Tariqul Islam, Sujon’s secretary Dr Badiul Alam Majumder, Director General of the Department of Women Affairs Shahin Ahmed Chowdhury,among others, participated in the human chain.
