Deputy Leader of Jatiya Sangsad Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury MP said that advancement of women folk is a very important factor for country’s progress and prosperity at the backdrop of Bangladesh’s social structure.’
While speaking as the chief guest at a function of reception accorded to the newly elected mayor of Nagarkanda Pourashava Raihanuddin Molla held yesterday at Nagarkanda upazila parishad premises in Faridpur said that the family and society have also a vital
role in the empowerment and advancement of women along with the government.
The function chaired by Nagarkanda upazila Awami League president Aiman Akbar Chowdhury was also addressed, among others, by Golam Akbar Chowdhury, upazilla Awami League secretary Belayet Hossain Mia and organizing secretary Monowar Hossain.
Sajeda Chowdhury said that in 1971 at the clarion call of Bangabandhu we fought for liberation with the participation of both men and women for which the liberation was possible in a short time.
So the women folk which form half of the total population cannot be ignored or lagged behind in nation building activities.
Describing about the tremendous development activities of Nagarkanda upazila under the present government she said that this upazila will be upgraded into a district in near future along with a University.
