A court in Chittagong convicted on women drug peddler with life term imprisonment for alleged drug trafficking . The court of Additional District and Session Judge Md. Nure Alam pronounced the verdict on Thursday last after final hearing of the suit.
The convicted drug peddler is Ms. Shahjada Akhter(40) , wife of Jafar Ahmed of pathergatha area in city. The convict Shahjada is now absconding after getting bail earlier, sources added. PP of the Chittagong Metro session judge Advocate Lokman chowdhury told that case was lodged against the convict under section 19(A) of Narcotics Control Act by the state in March, 2010 . He said the possession and trading of intoxicated drugs which was undoubtedly proved by the court and hence , the court pronounced this verdict , court sources said.
