Police recovered the body of an apparent murder victim on Sunday from her house at Kalapaharia Ulukandi Purbapara in Araihazar upazila.
The deceased was identified as Amena Bibi, 70, wife of Mohammad Ali.
Her hands and legs were tied, Bijoy Karmakar, sub-inspector of Kalapaharia police camp.
Amena used to live at her father’s house after the death of her husband.
Police suspected that criminals set her on fire after tying her hands and legs at night.
The motive behind the killing could not be known immediately.
