Dead body of a woman named Nasima Khatun (34) was recovered from Bilash residential hotel situated at Rahater Mor (crossing), heart of the district town of Bagerhat on Saturday noon. At that time police arrested her husband Rabiul Islam Rubel (23) from the hotel. The dead body of the woman sent to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital for autopsy. Nasima Khatun was the daughter of one Olid Mia of village Tribeni Dakkhinpara under Shailokopa Upazila in Jhenidha district. She used to work in a garments factory in Dhaka while arrested Rabiul Islam Rubel is the son of one Md. Shahidul Islam hails from the village Chatura under the same Upazila. They came to the hotel on Friday afternoon as husband and wife and booked a room.
In the face of police interrogation arrested Rubel told that in the year of 2015 when he was a student of Jhenidha Polytechnic Institute he was acquainted with divorcee Nasima Khatun who was 11years senior to him and it was later turned into a love affair. At last he was forced to marry her in the same year. But after one year Nasima left his house and lodged cases with the local PS against him on the charge of torturing her. However, by this time he married another woman. But after a gap relation was reinstituted between the two through mobile phones and physically meeting. Md. Humayun Kabir, manger of Bilash hotel told the police, previously both Rubel and Nasima lived together in our hotel on several occasions as husband and wife. We know nothing more than this.
KM Azizul Islam, Officer-in-charge of Bagerhat Model PS told, police recovered the dead body of Nasima hanging with a ceiling fan in a room of hotel Bilash and it was already sent to the morgue for autopsy. Rubel who was her in the room was arrested. Hotel manager was also taken to the PS for interrogation. He added, the family-members of the dead were informed of the matter. Later the legal steps will be taken after the receipt of the post mortem report.
