Police recovered body of a divorced woman from Rakhain Para area under Peshkar Para of the district town on Wednesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Anwara Begum, 55.
Operation Officer (IO) of Cox’s Bazar Sadar Police Station Abdur Rahim said the woman used live in a rented house at the area. Her husband divorced her around 15 years ago. Since then she had been living alone and used to run a trade of interests. She had business with a number of people.
As there was no response till 10am on Wednesday, owner of the house broke open the door with the help of people and found her body lying on the floor. Meanwhile, the back door of the house was open.
On information, police led by (IO) of Cox’s Bazar Sadar Police Station Abdur Rahim recovered the body and sent it to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital for an autopsy.
