Police recovered at least seven slices of organs of an unidentified woman from the city’s Fakirapool area on Tuesday afternoon.
The severed organs, including head, hands and legs, were found scattered on the rooftop of WASA Bhaban in the area.
The rest of the body of the woman, aged about 22/23, was found on the roof of a nearby tin-shed house.
Police, RAB and CID Crime Scene Unit visited the spot and collected some evidences. The body parts have been sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital [DMCH] for autopsy.
Police said the severed head of the woman was recovered from the top of seven-storey Rokeya Ahsan Manjil at 193/1, Fakirapool.
ASI of Motijheel Police Station Abdul Awal said that the body of the woman had no cloth. Her face was burnt and blackened by the killers in a bid to conceal her identity.
The murder might have taken place in between 10pm and 12 pm Monday night, police suspected.
Officer-in Charge of Motijheel Police Station BM Farman Ali told The New Nation yesterday night that the killers probably gang raped her before murder. Later they severed her body into pieces to suppress their misdeed, the OC added.
