UNB, Benpole :
Police arrested five women allegedly belonging to a swindler gang from Dablu Market area in Benapole on Tuesday night.
The arrestees were identified as Meherun Nesa, 25, wife of Faruk Hossain, a resident of Fultola village of Noapara, Asma Khatun, 22, wife of Hira Sarder, a resident of Mirzaganj upazila of Patuakhali district, Salma, 45, wife of Abul Hossain, a resident of Bakerganj, Meherun, 23, wife of Monzel Hossain, a resident of Mokendupur area of Jessore, and Amena Khatun, 48, wife of Shamsur Ali of Railpotty area.
Apurba Hasan, officer-in-charge of Benapole port police station, said the five women belonging to a gang had long been involved in cheating people out of money.
