Woman ‘stabbed to death by husband’ in Narsingdi

A woman was stabbed to death allegedly by her husband at a residential hotel at Sadar upazila in Narsingdi district on Saturday noon.
Deceased Reshmi Begun, 35, was the wife of Ripon Miah, a resident of Kurinal village at Nabinagar upazila in Brahmanbaria district.
Sources said the couple boarded Hotel Al Mamun in the district town at about 11:00 am.
Meanwhile, Ripon stabbed Reshmi following an altercation, leaving her critically injured, police said.
Seeing the blood flowing the room, the hotel staff rushed her to Narsingi Sadar Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared her dead.
However, police arrested Ripon and the hotel owner Bahadur in this connection, said Narsingdi Sadar Model Police Station officer in-charge Biplob Kumer Dutta.
During primary questioning, Ripon allegedly informed the police that they had been at loggerheads for a long time over family feud. He brought her to the district town saying to visit a doctor and boarded the hotel.
Later, he stabbed her to death in the hotel room at one stage of the altercation, OC Biplob added.
