An old-aged woman was strangulated to death by unidentified miscreants at Sonargoan upazila in Narayaganj on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Firoza Begum, 58, of Yusufganj village under Mograpara Union of Sonargaon upazila in the district.
On information, police visited the spot and recovered the body. Later, the body was sent to the Narayanganj General Hospital for autopsy. Police also recovered a blood-stained
knife, which was used in the killing.
According to the locals and the police, unidentified criminals killed the woman at the residence at Yusufganj village in the morning. The woman had been living at the residence of her son Motiur Ramhan, a Saudi Arabian expatriate, for a few years. Firoza was living at the residence along with her daughter-in-law Zannatul Ferdous Supti. She was alone during the incident, as Supti left the residence for her father’s home on Thursday. The miscreants escaped the spot locking the main gate of the residence after killing the woman. Police said that the incident may be a pre-planned incident.
