A national level shooter has alleged that she was raped by a fellow sportsperson.
Police said that a case has been registered against the shooter on the basis of the complaint filed at the Chanakyapuri police station and he has been asked to join the probe.
In her complaint, the woman said that she has known the accused for over two years as they used to practice together.
The woman said that she has been training for the national championships at the shooting range of the Sports Authority of India and the accused, who had competed in international events, used to guide her.
The two got involved in a relationship and the shooter promised to marry her, the woman said. She said that recently he visited her at her residence in Chanakyapuri on her birthday and allegedly offered her a cold drink spiked with sedatives. When she fell unconscious after having the drink, he allegedly raped her.
Following the incident, he stopped answering calls from the woman, she said. Later, she met him at the shooting range, but he refused to acknowledge that he had promised to marry her. When she protested, he threatened to kill her with the shooting rifle and make it look like an accident.

The woman then approached police to register a complaint. She was sent for a medical examination, which confirmed rape.
Cops contacted the accused shooter on Saturday and asked him to join the probe.
