A woman allegedly killed a three-year old boy after dashing him to the ground in Banaripara area of the district town early Friday.
Quoting witnesses Ziaul Ahsan, officer-in-charge of Banaripara Police Station, said rickshaw puller Ripon Sheikh used to live at the house of Badal Mia as tenant.
Being irritated by Hafizur’s frequent crying Nupur Begum, wife of Badal Mia, rushed in and dashed the boy to the ground, leaving him critically injured.
Later, Hafizur was rushed to Upazila Health Complex where doctors referred him to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital.
The doctors at Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital asked his parents to take him to Dhaka for better treatment as the boy got injured in his head and chest.
Being failed to take Hafizur to Dhaka, Ripon, father of the victim, again admitted him the upazila health complex where he succumbed to his injuries at the dead of night.
However, police could not arrest Nupur Begum as she went into hiding after the incident.
