A woman named Shilpi Akther, 30, succumbed to her injuries at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) after an ambulance ran over her in front of Square Hospital in city’s Panthapath area yesterday.
The woman died at 9:30 am after the accident taking place around 6:30 am on Monday (October 29).

Shilpi Akther was the wife of Nekabbor Ali from
Hajolpara village of Dhobaura Upazila in Mymensingh district.
Shilpi was a house maid. She lived in West Raja Bazar area of Firmgate of the city.
She met this tragic accident on the way to work, according to Russell, nephew of the deceased.
Confirming the matter to New Nation, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station Gonesh Gopal Biswas said that the ambulance was seized, but driver fled after the accident.
