A woman was killed and two others were injured as a private car crashed into their rickshaw in Sher-e-Banglanagar area of the city on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Nargis Akhter, 30, wife of Haris Miah of Tejkunipara under Tejgaon Police Station. The injured are Rashida Begum and Munni, 7.
Officer-in-charge of Sher-e-Banglanagar Police Station Abdul Momin said Nargis along with Rashida and Munni was going to Farmgate from Suhrawardy Hospital by the rickshaw at noon.
When the rickshaw reached the west side of DITF venue near the Election Commission
Secretariat, a speedy private car hit it from the opposite direction, leaving the trio injured.
The injured were rushed to Suhrawardy Hospital from where Nargis was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital following deterioration of her condition. The body was kept at the DMCH morgue for autopsy.
