Police recovered the body of a woman from the 3rd floor of Insaf Residential Hotel at Kamalapur area in the capital on Saturday night.
The identity of deceased couldn’t be known yet.
Abdul Jalil, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Motijheel Police Station confirmed the news to the media on Sunday and said that the woman’s body was recovered from Room No- 227 on the 3rth floor of the hotel last night.
The door of the room was slightly locked. The woman was lying on the bed. She wore pajamas only. The body was covered with a veil.
Besides, she had black spots in her neck, SI added.
Hotel sources said that both Abul Kalam and his son Sifat came to Dhaka from Shariatpur’s Naria on the 12th October and firstly stayed in room No- 234 of the hotel.
They told the hotel manager that Kalam’s wife moved to Dhaka from the village for family dispute. That’s why they have also come to Dhaka to look for her. Then on the 18th October they informed the hotel authority that his wife had been found. They then rented room 226 of the hotel.
At last, when the hotel boy went to the room to clean, he saw the woman lying unconscious on the bed. Her body was later recovered after informing the police station. The cause of death can be confirmed only after autopsy.
An attempt was being run to arrest the fleeing husband of the victim woman, SI Abdul Jalil added.
