An elderly woman was killed in a terrorist attack at Paikpara village under Abhaynagar Upazila in Jessore on Friday night.
The woman was identified as Jarina Begum, 65, wife of late Yakub Ali of Paikpara village.
Locals and the police said the women died on the spot as a gang of terrorists led by Iqbal Sheikh, his brother Enamul Sheikh, Emon Sheikh, Nasir Sheikh and Mamun Sheikh attacked the elderly woman as he tried to protect a youth namely Halim Khan at around 9pm on Friday. The youth took shelter at the residence of the woman after being chased by the terrorists at that time over destroying of a carom board.
