A woman was hacked to death allegedly by her drug addict son at Telkupi village in Sadar upazila on Monday morning. The deceased was identified as Hawa Begum. Police said Shimul Hossain locked into an altercation with his mother over taking drug in their house in the morning.
At one stage, Shimul hit his mother on her neck with a sharp weapon, leaving her dead on the spot.
Later, with the help of locals police arrested Shimul.
